This was a film photography project. An old Canon camera and two rolls of expired 36-frame black and white film was used to capture all images on the last business day of Sam-The-Record-Man store in Toronto, Canada.
Sam The Record Man was one of Toronto’s music icon. It was founded in 1937 by the Sniderman family as a radio selling and servicing store, and later became a records selling store. “Sam” was part of the Toronto Sound strip along with other music stores, nightclubs, and taverns in the 60’s. Sam’s famous store front neon sign was a landmark on Yonge Street for decades. The curtain of the store was closed in 2007.
